The early 70s were a time of turmoil. New EPA regulations regarding emissions were coming into place and automakers were scrambling.
While the Big Three fought them, little old Honda developed a new technology called CVCC.
With one disparaging comment, GM invited Honda to show them up. They took a Chevy Impala, put on their CVCC technology, and passed all the current and upcoming EPA standards with flying colors while increasing gas mileage.
Or so the story goes......

MAJOR APOLOGY: In the video I erroneously said during the development of the CVCC Honda was developing it's first 4-stroke engine. That is wrong (as many of you pointed out). I script/outline videos and during my research on this I obviously mis-typed something and didn't catch it in editing.
